Our Story

As the world is seemingly hell-bent on venturing into greater turmoil and turbulence it springs a labyrinth of possibilities; those fuelled in hope and others through destruction. It is a pre-apocalyptic landscape which ‘Visions Of The Blinded World pt I & II’ explores and embraces in its open eyed reflection.

‘Visions Of The Blinded World pt I & II’ is the creation of Norway based international band Spookshow Inc., a band embroiling their musical and lyrical imagination in a tapestry of industrial, electro, modern rock and metal; a union wrapped up in cinematic sound and suggestion. Even that does not reveal the rich palette of the band’s sound bred in the inspirations of artists such as Rob Zombie, KMFDM, Die Krupps, Skinny Puppy, NIN, Prodigy, Chemical Brothers, Pink Floyd, and Paradise Lost.

The beginnings of Spookshow Inc. date back top 2003 when Lithuanian guitarist/songwriter/producer Lucky Spook met singer/songwriter Soltex. From within the repressive clutch of a Soviet Empire denouncing rock music as the work of the devil, Lucky was seduced by Pink Floyd album, ‘Final Cut’. That led to picking up an acoustic guitar, lessons, and exploration via the black market of more releases and artists; all the seeds to his creative destiny. Time spent in London after the fall of the Soviet Empire brought the likes of Chemical Brothers and Prodigy to his exploration but it was returning home and meeting Soltex that his major creative sparks were lit.

From the demise of the band both played in together, Spookshow Inc. emerged and swiftly become a potent proposal leading to the band playing many festivals and supporting The Legendary Pink Dots in 2005. Seven years in the making, ‘Visions Of The Blinded World pt.1’ emerged late 2013; a collection of unapologetically individual tracks united in examining the dark arcane and frailties of a failing humanity. The last recordings for the album also saw multi-instrumentalist Sharaz involved, subsequently completing the band’s line-up.

Continuing and completing the examination of a world locked in an even darker maelstrom of negativity, Spookshow Inc. have now unleashed ‘Visions Of The Blinded World pt II’. As its predecessor, the album searches every raw edge and ravenous corner of the darkest places with a sound which is bolder and hungrier to embrace a rich array of styles and flavours. Lyrically it asks as many questions as those it leaves for the imagination to contemplate whilst musically it challenges as it seduces creating as much an inescapable trespass of invention as a compelling contagion of virulent enterprise.

Released through the band’s own label Thunder Of The Distant Planet in a complete package with pt 1, which offers two new tracks and some new re-workings, ‘Visions Of The Blinded World pt II’ is Spookshow Inc. providing the soundtrack to the world’s journey into fatal corruption but more than that the declaration of a truly unique band with a rousing and dramatically provocative sound to match.
