Spookshow inc. reveals the nightmare of Reaper Creeper this Halloween

They stir, they come, the souls of the dead emerge from deep graves and the even deeper realms of the underworld to play and collect and there among them is the ‘Reaper Creeper’.

Whether you embrace or cower in the dark realms of Halloween, its suggested wicked deeds and nefarious stories annually fascinate long after the single day of celebration, a nagging call on the imagination which the new single from Spookshow inc. shares in its dark tale and aural drama.

Since 2003, when Norwegian based Lucky Spook (guitar, programming, songwriting, producer) brought Spookshow inc. to life with vocalist Soltex, the project has ventured the darkest corners and depths of life, storytelling and a world on a self-destruct fuelled spiral with a sound just as boldly adventurous and ravenous in its stalking and seducing of ears. Their 2018 released debut album, “Visions of the Blinded World”, gathered rich acclaim with its ever experimental landscape of creativity and a sound which has drawn comparisons to the likes of Pink Floyd, Prodigy, Rob Zombie, KMFDM, and NIN but more so a recognition of its esurient uniqueness.

2024 will see its successor, “Only Forward”, unveiled and before it for Samhain, the sinister ‘Reaper Creeper’. As the forthcoming full-length, the October 31st released single (together with a lyrics video) features Leo Margarit (Pain of Salvation) on drums, Florian Arnaud (Virtual Realm) on bass and long-time Spookshow inc. collaborator Subliminal Mentality alongside Lucky Spook and Soltex. The song is a seductive fusion of dark storytelling amid innocence cast curiosity and dread within the court of predacious sound. Spookshow inc. can never been described as mainstream in its invention and imagination but the track sees the band at their most virulently infectious and captivating.

Like an arcane mix of White Zombie and Creature Feature to try and share its incitement with the imagination, ‘Reaper Creeper’ sets the scene for the new evolution in Spookshow inc.’s thickly individual sound which will reveal its full landscape of temptation within next year’s “Only Forward”. It is also a song though, within its ironic take on Halloween and darkness seeded stories, shaped with and charged for fun; the kind of incitement which could ring around young voices during Trick-or-treating escapades and themed parties with the song’s young choir for company.
